Sprint Nextel is doing its part in fighting the growing obesity problem in the United States by releasing a new service to its customers called MyFoodPhone.
The MyFoodPhone service is a two-tiered application. The MyFoodPhone "Visual Food Journal" allows subscribers to easily upload pictures taken with their phone of the food they eat, along with log data such as weight, exercise, and calories burned to an online journal at www.myfoodphone.com/sprint. This helps customers monitor what they eat, modify their eating habits, and achieve their individual health goals.
Once a week, subscribers also receive a video clip from a nutrition advisor providing feedback on their eating habits, based on the data in their Visual Food Journal. The MyFoodPhone combination of journaling through camera phone pictures, and advice through video feedback, is a world first.
The MyFoodPhone service is available from Sprint now for just US$9.99 per month.
