iTunes capable Motorola E790 gets FCC Approval

News by Brad Kellett on Tuesday August 23, 2005.

The FCC has recently approved the new Motorola E790 music handset, featuring iTunes software built in.

The E790 is based much on Motorola's E398 handset, and features stereo speakers, a microSD card slot, and Bluetooth. It also supports quad-band GSM, meaning that it can work on most every GSM network in the world. The design of the Motorola E790 is much the same as the E398, though the E790 is white in color and includes a dedicated music key next to the menu key.

Although this is the first iTunes handset to be approved, it is believed that the E790 is not part of the upcoming ROKR branded music device range.

A shipping date for the Motorola E790 is still unknown.
