Samsung and U.S. Cellular today launched a new clamshell style feature phone called the Chrono. The Chrono is designed for users that want a simple phone that simply acts like a phone, not like a mini mainframe computer.
The Samsung Chrono sports a VGA resolution camera and a 2-inch, QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) resolution main display. Bluetooth wireless connectivity is on-board for using the phone with a wireless headset, and there is 512MB of built-in storage for keeping a fair assortment of ringtones, wallpapers, contacts, and text messages.
The Samsung Chrono weighs 3.14 ounces and measures 1.83in x 3.7in x 0.67in in size. Samsung claims that its battery should be good for up to 4.5 hours of talk time, though it provides no information on standby battery life. The Chrono is available only in a dark gray color scheme.
The Chrono is available now free on a 2 year contract, or for $19.99 on a U.S. Cellular pre-paid plan.
