Virgin Mobile has announced a new messaging phone by LG that is designed to appeal to the customer who doesn't care about apps or advanced functionality. The LG200 features a candy-bar style design, with a full QWERTY keyboard for messaging.
Using the tagline "sometimes you just don't need an app for that'', Virgin is positioning this phone to the user who just wants to make phone calls, take pictures, send text messages, and put up with a horrible mobile email experience once in a while. The LG200 has a VGA camera and a 2.2-inch color screen. It is capable of storing information on 600 of your closest friends in its address book. Virgin claims that the LG200 will get 4 hours of talk time or 12.5 days of standby with its battery. A One-Touch speakerphone and Bluetooth 2.1 capability allow you to obey the law when using the phone while driving.
The LG200 is exclusively available on Virgin's payLo service, which offers 1500 minutes of talk time, with 500 text, picture, or video messages and 10MB of data use for $30 per month. The phone costs $69.99 and is available in store and on Virgin Mobile's website now.
