Alongside the Xperia mini, Sony Ericsson has announced the Xperia mini pro, a very similar phone with a physical QWERTY keyboard.
The Xperia mini pro has all of the same features of the Xperia mini, but it adds a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard. Due to the keyboard, the mini pro is slightly bigger and heavier, at 3.62in x 2.09in x 0.71in (92mm x 53mm x 18mm) and 4.8 oz (136g). The 3-inch, HVGA (320 x 480 pixel) display with the Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA engine is present, as is the same 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The 5 megapixel rear camera with 720p HD (1280 x 720 pixel) video recording is there, but the mini pro gains a front-facing VGA camera for video chatting. A 2GB microSD card is included, and the phone supports cards up to 32GB in capacity.
The mini pro has Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Sony Ericsson's custom interface on top. Also included is the Facebook inside Xperia feature that combines Facebook with almost every aspect of the OS, including calendar, contacts, and mail.
The mini pro will be available in Q3 of this year in black, white, pink, and turquoise. Pricing has yet to be announced.
