An unexpected Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer appeared on stage at the BlackBerry World to help Research In Motion announce that Microsoft's Bing search engine will be the default search and maps provider for BlackBerry starting today. The search and mapping technologies will be integrated with the phones at a core OS level, and will include location based services and commerce functions. Bing will provide a social network-based link rating system as well. The Bing application was demonstrated running on a BlackBerry Torch 9800. The application made use of Microsoft's Metro user interface style that is seen on its Windows Phone 7 smartphones.source: RIM
