Sprint waiving text message fees for Japan relief donations

Following Verizon Wireless' announcement of waived text messaging fees for donations to Japan, Sprint has announced that it will also waive text messaging fees for such purposes. Customers can send messages to particular numbers to donate $10 to the relief efforts.

Below is a list of messages and numbers that customers can use to donate funds. Use of these numbers by Sprint customers will not result in text message charges.

* Text "REDCROSS to "90999" to donate $10 on behalf of the American Red Cross
* Text "TSUNAMI to "50555" to donate $10 on behalf of Convoy of Hope, Inc.
* Text "WAVE" to "50555" to donate $10 on behalf of the World Relief Corp. of National Association of Evangelicals
* Text "JAPAN" or "QUAKE" to 80888 to donate $10 on behalf of The Salvation Army
