HTC issuing maintenance updates for Desire Z/Desire HD smartphones

HTC said via Twitter today that it is issuing updates to both the Desire Z and the Desire HD for European users. It said the release will make "your mobile experience even better," but shot down speculation that it's Android 2.3 Gingerbread by saying it's a maintenance build based on feedback and that "Gingerbread is not a part of this update." The software will be rolling out beginning today.
