Today Sprint announced its latest rugged flip phone, the Sanyo Taho. The Taho offers a rugged non-slip Dura-Grip exterior and meets military standard 810G rugged ratings, which means it can withstand some dust, shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, blowing rain, and water immersion.
The Taho has a 2-inch QVGA internal display as well as a 1-inch monochrome external display. It also offers a 2MP camera with a flash and video recording capabilities. It also has a front-ported speaker for speakerphone or music playback. It also comes preloaded with some Sprint software including Sprint Navigation and Sprint Family Locator.
Under the hood, the Taho has 256MB of internal memory. It also comes with a 1GB microSD card, which can be swapped out for capacities up to 32GB. The Taho is rated for up to 6.1 hours of talk time on a charge.
The Sanyo Taho is available from Sprint online and in stores today for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. It will be available in all other Sprint channels beginning on January 9, 2011.
