During the Flat Panel Display International tradeshow in Japan this week, E Ink and LG Display were showing off color capable electronic paper displays. Both companies displayed 9.7-inch screens. According to PC World, the displays aren't as vivid as LCD displays and only provide a "dash of color." E Ink says its display shows 4,096 colors. Electronic paper displays do not provide light, which allows for much longer battery life. E Ink hopes its color displays will be used in markets for electronic textbooks or digital newspaper advertisements.source: PC World
