LG Shows Bluetooth Car Mirror at 3GSM
News by Michael Oryl on Wednesday February 16, 2005.
One of the cooler products I have seen so far at this year's 3GSM show in Cannes, France is LG's Bluetooth enabled....rearview mirror. That's right, LG was showing off a rearview mirror for cars that displays caller ID information in the middle of the mirror's face.
While they had some trouble getting it to work (probably due to the hundreds of other Bluetooth devices in the immediate area), it was still quite cool to watch. As you can see in the photo below, the caller ID digits are quite easy to read.
In addition to the caller ID information, you also get a speakerphone function for hands free use of the phone while driving. The mirror is powered off of the car, as you would expect, but also has a battery built in that will allow for 150 hours of standby or 7 hours of talk time.
No word on when the system might be made available.
