Today RIM announced a new software update for the BlackBerry Torch 9800. The firmware, version 184.108.40.2065, offers faster page loading and improved panning in the browser. It also handles user input more efficiently, resulting in improved responsiveness. RIM says that applications should load faster, and also switch and exit quicker. The home screen was improved with faster rendering and smoother transitions between panes, and thumbnails for photos should render quicker. The email and messaging apps were also improved with faster scrolling, and RIM says it improved the voice software for improved audio quality.
