Google has announced Maps 4.5, which offers a new "Walking Navigation Beta" feature as part of its Navigation software.
Walking Navigation Beta works much like Google's vehicle navigation works, providing voice-guided turn by turn directions. It also uses specific pedestrian pathways where available, and users can activate Street View to get a preview of where they're walking. Google Maps 4.5 also adds a new search bar that lets you search, open Places, use Layers, or find your location. Visit the Android Market on any Android 1.6+ to download the free app now.
