AT&T Gives, Takes Away Free WiFi Access for iPhone Users
News by Ricky Cadden on Tuesday May 13, 2008.
Last week AT&T posted a note on its site offering free WiFi access on its nationwide hotspot network to iPhone owners. The note was then quickly pulled, leaving users confused. The New York Times checked with AT&T officially and were told it was a mistake.
AT&T also said that it intends to offer free access to all of its WiFi-enabled smartphones eventually, though no time frame was given. T-Mobile, which also has a large nationwide network of WiFi hotspots, has offered free access as part of its unlimited data plan for quite a while.
