Samsung OmniaPRO B7610 smartphone hands-on photos and video

Gallery by Michael Oryl on Monday June 15, 2009.

Earlier today we had the chance to work with Samsung's new OmniaPRO B7610, one of the new additions to the Windows Mobile-powered Omnia line that Samsung introduced this morning. The B7610 comes equipped with a massive 3.5-inch AMOLED(INFO) touchscreen display and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

When the B7610's 4-row QWERTY keyboard is exposed, the device brings up a shortcut menu that provides quick access to the most common messaging tasks. The keyboard has a fairly traditional layout, with the space bar and punctuation keys sitting on their own row, which means that a function key is needed for number input.

The feel of the device is very much like that of a thicker/heavier Omnia II, and it features the same warm, smooth back as found on the new Samsung Jet - including the cool lines that can be seen at certain angles.

The OmniaPRO B7610 supports the full range of Windows Mobile Professional features. It will likely ship with version 6.1 of Windows Mobile initially, but Samsung has assured us that it will be upgradeable to version 6.5 when that OS is available.

Check out the photos and the HD video that is located at the bottom of this page. You can learn more about the device in our original Samsung B7610 story.
