HTC Snap QWERTY messaging device in pictures and video

This week at the 2009 CTIA Wireless show, HTC unveiled the HTC Snap, a slim candybar smartphone with a full-QWERTY keyboard and extended 1500mAh battery. The Windows Mobile 6.1-powered device has tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900MHz) and dual-band UMTS (900/2100MHz or 850/1900MHz) support with HSDPA for high-speed data connectivity. Our correspondent Brad Kellett was able to provide a quick walk-through concerning the quality of the device.

The Snap updates the classic QWERTY candybar design of the popular T-Mobile Dash, and Kellett said that this device will easily be as popular as the Dash. The device feels really light and very firm in the hand, and at only 4.59-inches tall, 2.42-inches wide, and less than a half-inch thick, it should. He said that the device has the best QWERTY keyboard he has ever used. The keys are easy to find and have a fantastic motion, although the offset rows of keys did take a moment to adjust to since typical smartphones have the keys arranged in a grid formation.

The Inner circle, which brings messages from pre-selected groups of people to the top of a user's inbox is snappy and appears useful, Kellett said. You can see the Inner Circle function in action in the video below.

Just what I've been waiting for. The Moto Q9h is a bit big for my taste - I hope this will fit me perfect. Cant wait till MB gets the your hands on it or more details about release date and price. One site have it for 299£ in preorder.. not bad at all.
