Brad Kellett met with Samsung today at the 2009 CTIA Wireless show and had the chance to spend a few moments with the company's newest cell phones, including the SGH-i627 Propel Pro that was announced earlier this week for AT&T here in the states.
Overall Brad was not real impressed with the device. He said that the QWERTY keyboard had an average feel, pretty similar to that of the Samsung Propel that's been quite popular for AT&T so far. He said that the Windows Mobile 6.1 OS seemed pretty responsive, and that Samsung promised an update to Windows Mobile 6.5 "soon." The metallic cover material used on the phone seemed pretty prone to scratching from what he could tell, and the display didn't wow him either.
But we have to bear in mind that this was possibly a pre-production version of the device that's not exactly ready for the retail shelves of the world. We'll have to see if the situation improves any by the time people can expect to purchase the Propel Pro for US$149.99 later this month.
