Hands-on with Sony Ericsson's W508 Walkman flip phone

Gallery by Michelle Ruhfass on Wednesday February 25, 2009.

At the 2009 Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona, we had the chance to spend a few moments with Sony Ericsson's W508 Walkman, a sleek and thin flip phone. Offering users the option to change its external covers, the W508 will definitely attract some looks. Looks are not everything, though, and the W508 also has a lot to offer under its hood, including 3G HSDPA data support, a 3.2 megapixel camera/camcorder, and a M2 memory card slot.

The Walkman handset boasts many features for audiophiles, including gesture controls that allow users to easily turn up the volume or enable shuffle mode. Sony Ericsson has also included its SensMe and TrackID technologies as well. Users can also control the music when the handset is in its closed position from its external music keys. For wireless listeners, the W508 Walkman is also compatible with Bluetooth A2DP stereo headphones.

The Sony Ericsson W508 Walkman phone is expected to hit select markets in the second quarter of 2009.
