Gallery: Nokia's E51 WiFi Business Phone

Gallery by Michael Oryl on Thursday September 20, 2007.

Last night at a press event in New York City, I had the chance to play around with Nokia's brand spanking new E51 business phone. The E51 is a very compact Symbian OS device that runs Nokia's S60 user interface and offers built-in WiFi connectivity. In spite of its rather small stature, the E51 also manages to pack in a 2 megapixel camera and an FM stereo radio receiver.

The phone itself is deceptively small, especially in the black color scheme. In spite of its business roots, it is a very sexy device, and seems to be very solidly built. On top of that, the user interface moved quite rapidly and all of the keys had a decent feel to them, at least based on initial impressions.

This quad-band GSM, dual-band UMTS/HSDPA handsets should make it to market in Q4 of this year. No word yet from Nokia on whether we will see a strictly US 3G variant (850/1900MHz) any time soon.
