Hands-On with Sony Ericsson's 1.3 Megapixel K510

At their event in New York City on Tuesday, Sony Ericsson released the K510, a very nicely equipped mid-tier handset.

The K510 is Sony Ericsson's first attempt at bringing megapixel cameraphone functionality to the budget handset market. But beyond that, it also has features such as a 262k color display and 28MB of internal storage space, the kinds of things we would have only expected on high-level phones just a year ago.

The K510 I had the chance to use seemed solidly built, and I was pleased overall with the keypad and joystick performance. Nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done without getting in the way of itself. The K510 might not be very sexy, but it is functional. There is nothing wrong with being functional.
