Thanks to Wireless Imports, I had the chance to play around with a pre-production Motorola RAZR V3c, the new CDMA variant of the RAZR V3 that Motorola announced back in March of this year. Unlike the version that Motorola makes for Korea, the MS500, this phone has all of the major features of the GSM counterpart, including Bluetooth. On top of that, it also has a new 1.3 megapixel camera and EV-DO 3G data, just like the Korean model.
Please let me be clear. This is not a production phone. No carrier support has been announced at all, and the feature set and components used in the device pictured here could change completely. This photo gallery and the included observations are offered as a means of gaining a glimpse of what might be in store for us in the future. Everything is subject to change.
The V3c that we had access to had a number of physical differences that I noticed when compared with its GSM counterparts; such as the color. The V3c supports a two-tone gray color scheme unlike any I have seen on other RAZR devices. Another change is the lack of a menu key between the two softkeys due to a change in the user interface, which I will talk about below. The keypad design in general has been changed a bit, too. There is a dedicated camera key now, and the electro-luminescent strips used to light up the keypad are now wider than before.
