Today I got the chance to play around with with Samsung's new Omnia 7, a device that will be marketed in the USA by AT&T as the Focus. This new smartphone is the first device from Samsung to run on Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 platform, and it was launched today in New York at a Microsoft press event.
The Omnia 7 / Focus has a rather sedate design that is entirely functional, if not particularly sexy. But the
The WP7 user experience on the Omnia 7 seemed speedy, and it was quite visually stunning. Microsoft has done a good job at making the UI easy on the eyes, and the Focus makes it look even better.
As the thinnest of the Windows Phone 7 smartphones, the Omnia 7 felt both really good in the hand, and not as bulky as one might expect of a device with a 4-inch display.
The Focus version of the Omnia 7 will go on sale with AT&T starting on November 8.
