Hands-on with HTC's Desire Z (T-Mobile G2)

Yesterday at the HTC launch event in London, our Russell Jefferies had a chance to check out the new HTC Desire Z, a device that is soon to be launched in the USA as the T-Mobile G2.

The Desire Z's flagship feature has got to be its uniquely hinged slide-and-lift QWERTY keyboard, where the Z part of the device's name comes from. If you check out Russell's video, below, you can see how the hinge on the Desire Z looks from the side, which makes the 'Z' reference pretty obvious.

Other features of the Desire Z include a 3.7 inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) resolution capacitive touchscreen(INFO) display and an 800MHz version of Qualcomm's newly refactored Scorpion processor. A 5 megapixel autofocus camera, with flash and 720p HD video recording, helps to round out an overall impressive spec sheet.
