What is "i-mode"?

NTT DoCoMo's i-mode is a wireless internet service that allows for the creation of websites specifically designed for mobile devices. i-mode services are offered outside of Japan by a few network carriers, such as E-Plus in Germany and KPN in the Netherlands.
