aptX is an audio codec used to allow a Bluetooth A2DP audio connection between one device and another. For example, a smartphone equipped with aptX can stream audio in real time to an accessory Bluetooth speaker equipped with the same codec. Both devices must be equipped with aptX for the codec to work.
