What is "WebKit"?

WebKit is a webpage rendering engine that Apple developed for use in its Safari web browser. It powers the browsers used by many modern smartphone operating systems, including Apple's iPhone OS, the Android OS, and Symbian and Nokia S60. WebKit is based on the engine developed for the Konqueror web browser
