A call alert is simply when your device notifies you of an incoming call, which can be achieved in a number of ways. The two most common are either a ring, vibration, or combination of the two. A smartphone screen will also activate when there is an incoming call with an answer or ignore icon over the home screen or a contact specific image.Users can select from a number of pre-installed ringtones or can use a ringtone of their choice, a song or sound that is stored on their device.
