Broadband connection is a high speed data transfer connection (greater than 56kbps) and was once used synonymously with high speed internet, typically the variety that can support the playback of video. As internet connections became faster, broadband was often used as a differentiator between new fast internet and older wired connections. However, a most connections became broadband the term has become used less in recent years.
