LG Escape (AT&T) Review

There are a number of phones released each month, but not all are vying to be the top competitor. Some, like the LG Escape available now at AT&T, are designed to be solid midrange devices. Here's a look at the Escape, which has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch qHD display, NFC, and a custom version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Here's a very quick look at what has to be the hottest of the latest generation of Windows Phone smartphones, the HTC 8X. This particular version is available from T-Mobile, but other major U.S. carriers are also carrying the phone. It features a beautiful 720p Super LCD2 display that measures 4.3-inches, and it comes equipped with an 8 megapixel main camera as well as a forward-facing 2.1 megapixel camera. NFC and 802.11b/g/n wireless are also on-board.

LG Optimus G (Sprint & AT&T) video review

Here's a look at the two latest versions of LG's flagship Optimus G that are headed to AT&T and Sprint in November. Both pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor running at 1.5GHz and have built-in LTE 4G data capabilities. The Sprint model also boasts a 13 megapixel camera (AT&T's features an 8mp unit) and each device renders everything on a large, 4.7-inch 720p HD resolution display.

The Huawei Ascend P1 is a surprisingly nice Android 4.0-powered smartphone that we first laid eyes on at CES 2012. It comes equipped with a 4.3-inch, qHD resolution Super AMOLED touchscreen display and is powered by a dual-core, 1.5GHz processor. It offers users a great level of build quality and quite beautiful to behold. Its 8 megapixel and relatively stock build of the Android user interface are sure to please as well.

Samsung is finalyl rolling out its Premium Suite upgrade for its Galaxy Note smartphone/tablet hybrid device, which is currently available from AT&T here in the USA. In addition to bring Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich to the Note, the update also adds the S Note, S Memo, and My Story applications. Watch this video to see the new S Pen enabled apps in action.

The Samsung Focus 2 for AT&T features a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus. Like any other Windows Phone 7.5 device, it can record 720p video clips, though it lacks zooming and continuous autofocus while filming. There is also a front-facing camera available for video chats and self-portraiture.

The HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE for Verizon Wireless sports an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, and 1080p video capabilities. The Incredible does not have HTC's ImageSense processing chip, but it still offers various shooting modes like HDR and panoramic stitch as well as a suite of filter effects. The camera offers continuous autofocus and tap-to-focus during video, and it has the ability to snap full resolution still images while recording a video clip.

The HTC EVO 4G LTE for Sprint features an 8 megapixel camera with backside illuminated sensor, 28mm f/2.0 lens, and HTC's ImageSense processing chip. It can also shoot full resolution pictures while recording 1080p video at 30 frames per second. The EVO 4G LTE will be available from Sprint on May 18 for $199.99.

The HTC Media Link HD is a small device that connects to an HDMI capable HD television in order to allow a compatible HTC smartphones, such as the HTC One X, One S, and EVO 4G LTE, to send photo, video, or screen content to the TV over a wireless connection. More than a simple screen mirroring system, Media Link HD allows a phone-based movie to play on the big screen while the user surfs the web on the phone, for example.
