Sony Xperia Z4v Coming to Verizon August 13th
By Luke Jones on Wednesday July 08, 2015

While the Xperia Z4v was not the flagship we hoped to get from Sony, it is still the most decked out smartphone the company has ever made. It features market leading specs and is premium, although despite being well made we would like to see the company change up its flagship design a touch. We digress as the real news of the day is that Verizon has confirmed that it will start selling the Xperia Z4v from August 13th.

Sony has had a tough time overall in recent years and the situation has been exasperated by a declinig smartphone division. With handset sales declining many have mooted the idea that Sony would sell its Xperia decision, something the company has denied. With things not looking any better the rumor will not go away, but perhaps we have the definitive answer now.

By Luke Jones on Tuesday June 09, 2015

We have written before about the success Sony is enjoying with its mobile image sensor business, so much so that it is now the most important part of the company. That may come as a shock for those who remember Sony from even a decade ago, but as a hardware brand the Japanese company is struggling. In imaging it is thriving and with the focus now on camera tech, Sony is considering expanding its operations into China.

Here's why Sony is Avoiding Quad HD Screens
By Luke Jones on Thursday May 28, 2015

The shift to Quad HD screen technology is well underway. Starting last year with the LG G3, most major Android vendors have at least one device with 1440p displays, but Sony is one company that is sticking to 1080p Full HD for its flagships. The recently launched Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z3+ both came with 1080p and it seems the company is going to stick with the older technology for a while longer yet.

By Luke Jones on Tuesday May 26, 2015

That left the struggling electronics juggernaut with a flagship sized hole in the market around the world, with only last year's Xperia Z3 flying the high end banner. Sony has now updated the Xperia Z3 by announcing the Xperia Z3+, a handset that pushes the older device closer to a running pace with today?s flagships.
