By Luke Jones on Monday September 22, 2014

Apple. iPhone. Record. Sales. Launch. These are all words that tend to go hand in hand whenever Cupertino releases a new version of its all-conquering smartphone. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have teamed up to create another sales record for their opening weekend, beating last year's iPhone 5s/5c roll out.

A little perspective is always a good thing, so while some of us are waiting to buy the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and thinking, "Gee, this is expensive," what about the guys and girls who make the device. A report today shows how much the average iPhone 6 manufacturer gets paid, and how much it would cost them to purchase Apple's latest smartphone.

By Luke Jones on Friday September 19, 2014

Apple co-founder and the general tech brains behind Steve Job's passion and drive, Steve Wozniak, has given his verdict on the iPhone 6 and seems to have given the device a thumbs up. That may seem a given, the company co-founder liking the newest product, but those familiar with "Woz?s" history will know that him liking an iPhone is a big deal.

The recent celebrity nude gate was for the most part laid at the feet of Apple, or more to the point the company's iCloud service. While it was first thought that iCloud was hacked, Cupertino has since confirmed that it was actually a phishing attack that found the passwords to enter celebrity accounts before posting nude images of them online.

By Luke Jones on Wednesday September 17, 2014

We have been sent this fantastic infographic by CompareCamp.com that breaks down the entire iPhone 6 manufacturing process and shows why and how Apple build its all-conquering flagship. It is no surprise to see that the focus of production is on China, but while many thinks that is because of labour costs and cost effective measures, that is not necessarily the case.

Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus review roundup
By Luke Jones on Wednesday September 17, 2014

Quelle surprise, everybody likes the new iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. Hardly shocking stuff as Apple could put out a feature phone with and i on the front of the name and win rave reviews (the general consensus so far has been 90%, 9 out of 10, that kind of stuff). The early reviews for Apple's new flagship devices are in and the general word is that both are very good handsets, with the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 apparently a better choice than the iPhone 6 Plus.

4 million iPhone 6 units sold, the Plus could be more popular
By Luke Jones on Tuesday September 16, 2014

Apple, rivals, and consumers all knew that the iPhone 6 launch would be huge and would likely crush all previous records. It has proven the case as Cupertino has released its figures for the pre-order stage of the iPhone 6 roll out (the device ships from September 18th) and the numbers are indeed huge. However, there is a trend that points to the larger iPhone 6 being more popular.

Apple now lets you delete the U2 plague
By Luke Jones on Monday September 15, 2014

And there was me thinking everyone was a U2 fan. Bono and his cohorts have invaded a great many people's iTunes accounts since Apple launched the iPhone 6 and it seems that consumers are not pleased. It turns out most people do not want free stuff when they are forced to have that free stuff as they have reacted angrily to U2's new album simply appearing in their libraries.

Get and iPhone 6 now... fast
By Luke Jones on Friday September 12, 2014

The biggest launch in smartphone history? Oh, that would be the current roll out of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple's latest and I presume greatest flagships. Expect sales records to tumble as rabid Apple fans tear themselves to pieces to get an iPhone, with millions upon millions expected to sell this weekend. The launch has actually been fraught with problems though, but despite that, both the iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus are already selling out.
