The YotaPhone 2 is certainly a head turner; is not necessarily a device we would buy, but it has served a function for consumers and has found a place in the market. Of course, we are talking about outside the United States where the device from Russian company Yota has been available in all its dual screen unique goodness. Apple's iPad sales have been tumbling for many quarters, but the company's CEO Tim Cook has said he is not worried as they knew this would happen. He said consumer cycles for tablets are different than smartphones, and also said the iPad would recover. Apple would be a lot more worried if other tablets were increasing sales, but they are not, with slate sales in the United States continuing to decline.

Kantar Worldpanel has released its data about smartphone distribution in the United States through the first quarter of this year, and the numbers show that Phablets are making an impact.
