OnePlus says OnePlus Two NOT Arriving Tomorrow (June 1st)
By admin on Sunday May 31, 2015

Well, we are pretty disappointed with this news. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has revealed that the company?s cryptic teaser last week, the one that the tech community assumed meant the OnePlus Two would be launched June 1st (Monday), was nothing of the sort. We wrote last week how the company was planning to unleash its new device, but would not be launching the handset until later in the year. Pei said the OnePlus Two would not launch in June at all, although he did confirm that the handset would land in the third quarter of this year.

Android M, the Ultimate Guide
By admin on Thursday May 28, 2015

Google dropped Android M on us at the company?s I/O developer's event today, and while the software will not be released until later in the year, Google was kind enough to give us all a detailed breakdown of what is in store. With Android 5.0 Lollipop only seven months old and feeling pretty darn fresh, we expect Android M to wow us and bring something new to the party. Luckily the software really does that and is a pretty rich overhaul of the system, even if it is unlikely to do Android?s fragmented platform any good in terms of unification.

Lumia 520 is the most Popular Windows Phone Handset
By admin on Wednesday May 27, 2015

Windows Phone isn't really the platform you go to for flagship kicks. Sure, the HTC One M8 for Windows is a fine high end device, as are the Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520 at a push, but for the most part the platform is littered with budget handsets. It is a trend that started when Nokia rejuvenated Windows Phone, and it has continued in earnest since Microsoft bought the Lumia division.

By admin on Wednesday May 27, 2015

A new, unannounced, ASUS smartphone has been certified by TENAA, the Chinese regulatory body that passes products for sale in the country. The device comes with the model number Z00EDB and is likely a new addition to the company's ZenFone line of handsets.

HTC Working on A50C, a New Desire Model Smartphone
By admin on Monday May 25, 2015

HTC has been very busy so far this year and has released twelve smartphones in just five months. Yes, some of those were regional specific devices, or minor variants of existing models, but nevertheless 2015 has been all hands on deck for the company. Sales have been worryingly sluggish though as the One M9 flagship failed to impress a wide consumer base. A solid mid-range device available to all could be the answer to HTC's problems (at least short term), so the HTC A50C is something to look forward to.

Galaxy Note 5 will not Launch Early
By admin on Wednesday May 20, 2015

The Galaxy Note 5 is the next major smartphone on the horizon for Samsung, and if we're being honest it is always the device we look forward to the most from the company, even over the Galaxy S flagship range. There have been rumors circulating over the last week that the Korean company will launch the Galaxy Note 5 early in an attempt to beat the iPhone 6s Plus to market. As it turns out though, it really was just a rumour.

Sharp AQUOS Crystal 2 Makes Appearance
By admin on Wednesday May 20, 2015

Sharp released an Aquos ZETA smartphone and tablet last week and the pair pretty much wowed us with their high end specs and premium designs. The Japanese company is on a bit of a hardware roll right now and joining the ZETA models is the new AQUOS Crystal 2, a sequel to the original Crystal that blew us away last year with its bezel-less design.

New Metallic Colored DROID Turbo Launched by Motorola
By admin on Tuesday May 19, 2015

The Motorola/Verizon DROID Turbo may be having battery problems, as we reported yesterday, but we still think it's a stellar smartphone. One of the best in the mid-range category in fact and while we reported the battery drain issue because... well, it's what we do, we are confident that Motorola and Big Red will get it sorted out quickly with an update. So, for our money the DROID Turbo remains one of the most enticing smartphones out there, although we have often thought the design lets it down.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Sells 10 Million Units
By admin on Tuesday May 19, 2015

Samsung's Galaxy S6 is arguably the best smartphone on the market and has helped the company gain some traction again after a poor 2014. However, while the handset (alongside the Galaxy S6 Edge) was pointing to a sales rejuvenation for Samsung, the reality seems different. It has been confirmed that the Galaxy S6 handsets have surpassed 10 million unit sales, but have not achieved that status as fast as predecessors.
