LG G Flex 2 Finds its Way to Singapore... US Soon?

LG announced the G Flex 2 at CES last month, and it is a different handset to the original. It is a flagship smartphone for a start and has been available in LG's South Korean homeland since January 30th. While the G Flex 2's world tour will take some time, the device is starting to spread, with Singapore the next confirmed destination. The country will get the G Flex 2 on February 27th for pre-order and will be available to buy from March 14th.

The company's G3 flagship was the first with Quad HD resolution and has been followed by numerous flagships since. While Samsung and Qualcomm are not seeing eye to eye over the Snapdragon 810 processor, LG has actually already announced a device rocking the chip, the G Flex 2. Of course, the company also has the G4 flagship ready to land, but that handset has been has been plagued by issues of the Snapdragon 810 overheating, something that has led to Samsung probably ditching the chipset for its Galaxy S6.

The company has hinted at significant growth through last year before, with impressive quarterly results. The end of year results also reveal LG is positioning itself among the smartphone heavyweights, with a 24% increase in smartphone sales.

LG Could Sue Qualcomm Over Samsung Version of Snapdragon 810

The situation surrounding the Snapdragon 810 flagship processor looks to be turning ugly with LG threatening to sue manufacturer Qualcomm, according to some reports. There have been rumored issues with the processor, namely where it overheats, causing several high end smartphones (Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4 for example) to be delayed. As a result of Samsung?s issues, Qualcomm said it would modify the Snapdragon 810 and in effect give Samsung a bespoke version.

LG G3 Getting Android 5.0 Lollipop Soon

LG promised that its LG G3 will be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop quickly, a nice surprise considering the handset is still rocking Android KitKat 4.2.2. The Korean company has already updated the device on the international scene, but the United States model is still back on KitKat. However, LG has now announced via Twitter that the update for the G3 in the US is "coming soon".

Life is Good is the motto of LG, and it seems that indeed life is good for the Korean company, especially on the smartphone front. 2014 pointed to a new dawn of promise for the company, the LG G3 put the company at the top of the market with its sheer quality, while pre quarter sales showed the Korean giant was selling more handsets. That has been borne out with a big jump in yearly sales too.
