Apple's highly anticipated refresh of iTunes looks like it is causing a bit of a headache for the Cupertino giant. In a statement to AllThingsD, Apple's Tom Neumayr claimed that "The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right." iTunes 11 was scheduled to hit desktops in October but is now scheduled to arrive before the end of November.

According to the search giant, Google's Play Store, previously known as the Android Market, now offers over 700,000 apps to its Android smartphone and tablet users. The reported milestone comes on the heels of yesterday's unveiling of Google's new Nexus 4 smartphone, the new Nexus 10 tablet, and an updated Nexus 7 tablet. Google is gaining much needed traction against rival Apple, which announced in September that it had also passed the 700k app threshold.
