The IDC has said smartphone sales continued to increase to record levels through 2015, showing the market appears to be unwilling to slow down. The smartphone market is now the most competitive it has ever been, saturated? We don't think so as this competition means some of the giant names are not having things all their own way these days ... just ask Samsung now, and ask Apple in a few months.Smartphone sales increased a massive 10.1 per cent through 2015, compared to the previous year, which amounted to a record 1.44 billion smartphones sold through the year. That's nearly a quarter of the Earth's population, so it is hard to see how smartphone sales can keep growing like this, but they do. The IDC adds that 399.5 million units were sold through the fourth quarter of this year alone.
