The Sprint variant of the HTC One M8 will be receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow today according to Mo Versi, the VP of product management at HTC and the guy who always drops this kind of news. He says the technical details have been approved for the HTC One M8 and the special Harmon Kardon edition of the handset on Sprint.The over the air update should be kicking off tonight, so you may be getting a prompt to download Marshmallow on HTC's 2014 flagship anytime now. Of course, as always, this is a staged update to you may have to wait a few days to see that all-important notification. As is the norm, HTC is saying you will need to have at least 50% battery remaining on your device, and as this is a major Android build update, a Wi-Fi connection is a requirement. Android 6.0 is the latest major version of Google's mobile OS, and Marshmallow brings plenty of new features and added functionality. The new goodies now coming to the One M8 on Sprint include Doze Mode, app permissions, Google Now on Tap, and several of HTC's own enhancements to the company's proprietary apps and services.
