Xiaomi's huge growth from being a startup company in 2010 to being one of the top five smartphone manufacturers in the world now has been unprecedented. However, there was always going to be a drop off, a milestone that the company failed to meet, and it seems 2015 brought the inevitable. Xiaomi has revealed that it failed to meet its shipment expectations last year. Before getting into the details, it is hardly doom and gloom for the Chinese company as it still managed to shift just over 70 million handsets throughout 2015. However, while that is still hugely impressive and a 14.5 million unit hike compared to 2015, it is lower than the estimated 80 to 100 million that Xiaomi predicted it would sell. The company has left itself a 20 million unit margin of area, but still could not make the magic number, although Xiaomi has managed to go from 0 sales in 2010 to 70 million plus in one year in just five years. We doubt the company is too worried about missing its target, what do you think?
