We have been waiting a very long time for Xiaomi to launch the Mi 5 flagship, a follow up to its current Mi 4 that was launched way back at the end of the summer in 2014. In flagship terms that is an eternity and in that time every other company has launched a new high end device, while many (Samsung, Apple, LG, Meizu, Sony) have launched two.The reasons for Xiaomi's delay have been well documented, the Chinese company has been waiting for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset to be released. In the meantime Xiaomi has filled the Mi 5 void with several high end smartphones, including the Redmi Note 3 that was launched this week, but now that Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 820 Xiaomi is believed to be readying the Mi 5 for a December launch. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun spoke of the handset recently and said that the Mi 5 "is worth the waiting", and that the phone is "very very good". Unfortunately the executive didn't elaborate on any details such as specs or even a launch date, so that means we continue to wait patiently for Xiaomi?s next flagship.
