The ball is finally moving on Xiaomi's Mi 5 flagship handset. It has been nearly 18 months since the company launched the Mi 4, which in smartphone terms is an age. The Chinese giant has been holding out for Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 820 processor, but now that chipset is launched Xiaomi can press ahead with its belated flagship. The Mi 5 has now passed through benchmark software under the codename "Gemini" and there should be no surprise to see it is indeed packing Qualcomm's latest flagship silicon. Passing through GeekBench, the handset was also revealed to be packing 3GB of RAM (a high end standard) and it will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Other specs are not available, while the launch date is still unknown. Most sources until now have pointed to an early December launch, but we would not be surprised to see the Xiaomi Mi 5 hit by the end of this month.
