Chinese company Xiaomi is reportedly going to ditch LCD panels in favor of OLED screens next year and the company will select LG as the supplier of those displays. A report in Korea suggests that the two companies are currently in negotiation for Xiaomi to adopt LG?s components for OLED supplies.

LG has apparently seen the success Sony has had farming out its camera technology and thinks it can do similarly with its screen tech. The South Korean giant is one of the leading screen manufacturers and has a rich history in the TV sector. Currently its own LG Electronics is the chief partner for buying LG Display technology, but the company wants to attract more rival companies.

Xiaomi would be an excellent start as the company is among the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world and will provide LG with consistent business.
