Samsung is going after Apple in Russia by offering a deal that makes it more affordable to get the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+. The Korean giant says that a trade in of the Apple iPhone 5 of iPhone 5s (both older devices) will get you a certificate that slashes the price of its two latest flagships. At the moment this deal only available in Russia. Interestingly it is easy to think there are not many iPhones sold in Russia, but Apple has a decent market presence in the country so Samsung is playing a slick marketing game here. The certificate will drop the price of the 32GB Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ by 10,000 rubles ($155 USD) and the Note 5 by 15,000 rubles ($233). Really that is a sizeable discount for a couple of devices that are a few years old. You don't own the iPhone 5 or iPhone 5s? Well, you can get the same deal by trading in the Samsung GALAXY Note II, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy S5.
