We knew that LG's flagship G4 smartphone would be getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow quickly, the company's collaboration with Google on the Nexus 5X means it has had access to Marshmallow for a while. The G4 is now beginning its Android 6.0 rollout with LG sending out the update in its home nation, South Korea.Of course, the build has already been in Poland for some time, but that test phase rollout is now kicking into full gear. LG-F500K, LG-F500L, and LG-F500S are the model numbers getting the over the air update in the coming days and weeks. Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings with it plenty of new features, including native support for fingerprint scanners, a new Doze feature, which shuts down background apps when not in use, and Google Now on Tap. We suspect that LG may update some of its software and even enhance the aesthetic of its UI to fit in with the Marshmallow design language. The G4 is just the second non-Nexus smartphone to receive the latest Android release, with the HTC One A9 announced running the software last week.
