Chinese companies are revamping their mid-range line ups by making their handsets metal. Meizu was first out of the blocks with the M2 Blue Charm Metal, while LeTV launched the metal Le 1s this week. Next up is Xiaomi, the leading smartphone manufacturer in China, with a metal variant of its Redmi Note 2.

The handset has been certified for sale in China, meaning it is likely to be released in the coming weeks. You can see a supposedly leaked image of the all-metal Redmi Note 2.

The device will come with a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD screen, a MediaTek Helio X10 processor, and 32GB of on board storage.
