Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro is an unannounced smartphone from the Chinese giant, but we now know the handset is imminent as it has just passed through the FCC.

That is a difference as Chinese handset usually pass through TENAA, and while the Redmi Pro 2 will do the same, it is interesting to see it land at the FCC. Of course, the FCC is the U.S. equivalent of China's TENAA and certifies products for release before they are launched. Putting two and two together, it seems reasonable that Xiaomi will be launching the Redmi 2 Pro in the United States, or is at least considering the idea.

The moderately spec'd smartphone would be the first from Xiaomi to land stateside. Its specs include a 4.7-inch display with a res of 720 by 1280 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a 2200mAh battery.
