ASUS has already done a lot of good things with its ZenFone 2 range, not least offering us the chance to have well built, good looking smartphones with interesting specs and an affordable price tag. The company is now looking to get on the good side of Android enthusiasts by issuing a new tool that lets them unlock the bootloader on their ZenFone 2.This of course allows complete customization of the Android platform, including the ability to install custom ROMs. However, before taking the plunge, there are some things worth considering. Firstly, ASUS confirms that anybody who accesses this tool and uses the bootloader will instantly void their warranty with the company. That may seem harsh, but it is an obvious move as you will have complete control over what you put on the handset, including harmful software. All manufacturers practice this if you access the bootloader on a device. If you are still interested, ASUS says you will need to be running at least software version 188.8.131.52, and our own caution would be that you know what you are doing. Mucking things up could lead to a bricked handset. It is also worth noting that you will no longer be able to get software updates, but if you are still interested you can head to the source. source: MyZen
