One of the major criticisms of Microsoft's Windows Phone platform was that it simply lacked the apps that are available on Apple's iOS and Google's Android. However, that is becoming less of a problem as there are now 669,000 apps available on the Windows Store. Some things need to be cleared up though. Firstly, that figure is for all apps and includes those for PCs, but the launch of Windows 10 Mobile will make apps universal so that 669,000 will be a more accurate figure. Secondly, there are well over one and a half million apps on both iOS and Android, so Windows still has some way to go, although most the major apps are covered these days, and a casual browse through iOS and Android would show there is a lot of crap out there. By the way, there is a lot of crap on the Windows Store too. Microsoft is doing a good job hiking the amount of apps, with a 67% rise since January alone, so we really think it is time to put the app debate to bed. We will see if some other problems with the Windows platform will be resolved with the launch of Windows 10 Mobile next month.
