Xiaomi is working on the Mi 4c smartphone, a limited edition version of its Mi 4 flagship, a device that has been leaked over the last week. The handset has already received certification from TENAA in China, which typically means a device is just around the corner. In some ways the Mi 4c is Xiaomi's method of stretching its Mi 4 flagship line further. The regular Mi 4 is aging now, but Xiaomi will not release the follow up Mi 5 until the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 is available. That chipset will not launch until December, so the first smartphones powered by the chipset will not land until March. Until that happens Xiaomi is looking for ways to keep the Mi 4 fresh... hence the Mi 4c. The Mi 4c will come with a 5-inch 1080p HD screen with 441ppi, a Snapdragon 808 processor from Qualcomm that is clocked at 1.4GHz. A new report says Xiaomi will unveil the handset on September 24th and will put it on sale from October 3rd.
