September and IFA comes around too soon for Microsoft and its upcoming Windows 10 Mobile platform. The company may still have a presence at the event, but do not expect any major announcements on its software or any upcoming smartphones. However, October is much more likely and reports today suggest that Microsoft will hold an event in October to detail Windows 10 Mobile and to showcase some new Lumia smartphones.Windows 10 Mobile is all but confirmed for a November launch, so a mid-October event would be perfect timing to highlight new products ahead of a sale launch the next month. It is an exciting time for Windows fans, but it is also arguably a make and break period for Microsoft in the mobile hardware space. The company is failing to make a major impact in key markets, sales are low and the lack of high end flagships is hurting Microsoft. We are fully expecting Redmond to launch a new flagship alongside Windows Phone 10, those devices are likely to be the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL. There will also be a new Surface and Surface Pro announced at the event.
