We wrote last week that the iPhone 6c, Apple's upcoming new "affordable" iPhone, is going to roll out during the second quarter of 2016. That information came from a report in Taiwan, and we questioned it as Apple sticks to fall launches, meaning Cupertino would announce the handset next month. Noted leak professional @Evleaks now backs up that view by saying that the iPhone 6c will be launched in September alongside the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.Evan Blass said that the device would land alongside the new flagships, although he did not cite a source for the information. Nevertheless, Blass is one of the most accurate and consistent sources of information out there, so we tend to believe @Evleaks more often than not.
We have said many times on these pages that our sources within Apple say that the company is 100% committed to a fall launch cycle for all major products. In other words, if the iPhone 6c is not arriving until next year, it is certainly going to be revealed next month, if it is not then do not expect it next year before the fall. The Apple Watch was treated in a similar fashion, so while we are not discounting this new report, we still think the iPhone 6c will be announced in September.
